What I’m doing now
Last updated: Jan 2026, from Singapore.
I am at the last 2 days of my year-end break before life starts full-throttle again.
WORK
I am working on a new startup venture at Grab and learning to build an AI product at the same time. It’s been fun and intense. A change from my previous managerial role as I’m a pseudo IC now. I’m enjoying being out of my comfort zone and learning how to work with AI models, and also getting better at dealing with ambiguity on the product direction.
I’m in my 10th year of work at Grab(!!) – decaversary coming up in 2026! Grateful that I’ve been able to reinvent myself every few years with new and challenging work.
FAMILY
Life is a blur with 2 kids. They are so cute. I love that they are finally friends! Getting to see them at the door after a long day at work is really the highlight of my day. Despite that, I’m often so very frustrated with them and am constantly learning and re-learning lessons in being patient and giving undivided attention. Learning to be a parent is a work-in-progress, never finished. It’s truly a masterclass in leadership.
Since both are a bit older and at pre-school/kindergarten now, I finally feel like I have some mind space to reconnect with my husband, who has unfortunately been at the bottom of my priority list for the past few years. Over the year-end break, we’ve been binge-watching Stranger Things and going on walks/bike rides – a welcome change from the usual to-do list planning that passes as conversations between 2 busy parents.
ME
The big theme going into 2026 is surprise, surprise… health! I’ve been pretty diligent in the last 3 months on changing my eating habits and worked out enough to be able to do a 5k. This year, I want to continue the momentum on my workouts and increase the load progressively.

Previously (May 2024)
I am in my mom era. Currently on a sabbatical from paid work to facilitate the expansion of my family from 3 to 4, to spend time and make memories with the littles. This experience has been a fascinating mix of the mundane and magical. It has provided me great practice in living in the present and has made me more patient and resilient.
Previously, I worked on creating a great consumer experience for users of the Grab app with a kickass tech team.
I’m keeping fit thanks to endless walks through SG’s amazing park connector system (and rocking my baby to sleep at all hours of the day).
Reading Hit Refresh, Outlive and the Three Body Problem.
Learning to bake – recent hits include classics like chocolate chip cookies and banana muffins. This initiative is constantly under threat (but never fired) by my desire to keep fit ๐
